Rahul Gandhi targets Modi and Naveen Patnaik in Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the Narendra Modi-led Union government and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's administration, accusing them of operating a partnership to exploit the people of Odisha. Speaking on the second day of his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Odisha, Gandhi asserted that the Congress is actively fighting against this alleged partnership.

He criticized the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), ruling in Odisha, for supporting the BJP in Parliament and disrupting Congress proceedings at the BJP's behest. Gandhi highlighted the alarming unemployment situation in Odisha, leading three million people to migrate to other states for employment, while also accusing external entities of exploiting the state's natural resources.

While addressing a gathering after offering prayers at a Shiva temple, Gandhi expressed his commitment to countering the divisive tactics of the BJP and RSS. He asserted that tribals, Dalits, and backward classes are being denied justice, emphasizing that his visit to Odisha is aimed at listening to the grievances of the people.

There was no immediate response from the BJD and BJP to Gandhi's allegations. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh joined in, describing BJD and BJP as two sides of the same coin and warning of potential privatization of SAIL steel plant in Rourkela and Nalco's aluminium plants if Modi is re-elected.
